This is the Fourth Edition of the Thursday Lunch and Learn Series

Have you ever faced an audience whose body language screams resistance – arms crossed, eyes narrowed, and a stance that silently declares, “”Not today, Safety!””? Creating meaningful engagement in workplace safety conversations is challenging when employees are unwilling to connect. Yet, what if we could change that close posture into an open one – without saying a word?

This session explores evidence-based behavioral strategies that subtly shift perceptions, foster trust, and create genuine buy-in. By leveraging techniques rooted in applied behavioral insights, we can transform workplace interactions from compliance-driven checklists into powerful cultural shifts. Discover how nonverbal communication, strategic engagement, and intentional behavior adjustments can turn hesitation into participation – building an environment where employees embrace safety not just because they have to, but because they believe in it.

Learning Objectives:
1) Recognize Behavioral Indicators: Identify key behavioral cues, analyze their common outcomes, and assess how they contribute to compliance challenges in workplace safety.

2) Differentiate Behavior Modification Strategies: Understand and distinguish the principles of behavior disruption, behavior shaping, and behavior reinforcement, and their impact on workplace culture.

3) Implement Effective Behavior Disruption Techniques: Explore methods for disrupting negative behaviors and maintaining that disruption to facilitate positive behavioral shaping and reinforcement for long-term cultural improvement.
