Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analysis for assigned Business Unit projects;
- Ensure compliance to all Safety Policies and adopted Standards;
- Ensure personal protective equipment meets applicable OSHA/EPA requirements and employees are trained on proper use;
- Conduct Safety Audits of assigned project sites ensuring work is being accomplished safely and occupational health is not compromised;
- Safety training of all personnel assigned to project;
- Conduct project safety inspections with follow-up inspections of any open items;
- Review Subcontractor safety qualifications and attend Pre-Construction Meetings;
- Creation and evaluating activity hazard reviews;
- Regulatory compliance with OSHA and Ameresco standards and conducts accident and incident investigations;
- Development and Implementation of Corrective Action Plans;
- Work with project supervision to create safety solutions to safety problems;
- Foster and maintains a positive safety culture for the project personnel;
- Maintain all safety certifications as required by contracts;
- Conduct quarterly safety meetings for Project Staff;
- Produce Safety Reports of activities performed;
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and management;
- Lead Incident/accident Investigations; and
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or similar Field
- Minimum of 5+ years construction industry safety experience on similar projects, ability to effectively communicate safety within a project team
- An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years with training for competent person status for at least the following 4 areas of competency: Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Hazardous energy; Confined space; Health hazard recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical and biological agents;
- Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification
- EM385-1-1 40-Hr. Safety Certification
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- NFPA 70E certification for flash training
