Responsibilities Include

1. Utilize trained Safety and Health Specialists:

2. Work under the direction of the FEMA Disaster Safety Officer at FEMA field locations including Joint Field Offices, Area Field Offices, Disaster Recovery Centers, and other locations to support COVID-19 response;

3. Ensure the safety and health of: •FEMA personnel; •Visitors and contractors at FEMA managed facilities; •Personnel who respond to the JFO under the Stafford Act;

4. Assist Disaster Safety Officer fulfill their role as the technical safety and health resource for the FCO and the Command Staff;

5. Assist Disaster Safety Officer in ensuring operations comply with 29 CFR 1910, DHS 066-1 Safety and Health manual, FEMA 6900.3;

6. Identify and approve proper FEMA asset locations – perform initial and subsequent building inspections;

7. Perform site specific safety and health training as necessary;

8. Develop Job Hazard Analysis;

9. Develop and implement safety and health programs as needed; and

10. Develop and have input into Occupant Emergency Program (OEP) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP);
